Building

Hire of the buildings
At Aylestone Baptist Church, we are very keen to see the church hall used by people and groups from the community. Our kitchen and toilets attached to the church hall were refurbished in 2007, improving the facilities immeasurably. If you would like to enquire about a one-off booking or the regular daytime or evening use of the hall, please phone the bookings secretary, Angela Wafforne on 0116 229 0141, or email aylestonebaptist@tiscali.co.uk. The hall is used for children's parties, public meetings, recreational and educational clubs and more.

The present buildings
The buildings that comprise Aylestone Baptist Church have been erected over sixty years. The present hall was the original church sanctuary and dates from 1932, while the sanctuary now used for worship was opened in 1955. In 1992, the lounge was added onto the front of the church sanctuary, creating a more open and welcoming aspect for visitors.

Weddings
The church makes a beautiful setting for a marriage service, and we are able to provide a very personal wedding to couples seeking marriage, but in return we do expect that couples engage in a process of wedding preparation. If you would like to know more, please ring our minister, Tim Fergusson, on 0116 283 2527.

Funerals
The church welcomes families in the community who find themselves responsible for organising a funeral. Please do not hesitate to contact the minister in these circumstances.

Dedications
We offer a service of dedication for those who would like to bring their thanks to God for the birth of a new baby, which involves the parents and the church making a number of promises to care for and teach the child as he or she grows. Dedication normally forms part of a Sunday morning service. Please contact the minister if you would like to know more.
